Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb had an impressive rookie season, but the team thinks he can take another step forward this year by being more involved in the passing game. When Hue Jackson was in charge of the team last season, he wasn't used much in the passing game, but once Freddie Kitchens took over, Chubb saw an increased 2.9 targets on 12.7 routes per game.

Browns running back coach Stump Mitchell has been impressed with Chubb's training camp and sees an even bigger year for the second-year guy.

“I think he’s going to be special like he was last year,” said Mitchell via cleveland.com. “He’ll be used a little more in the passing game than he was last year. Nick just continues to improve on the skillset that he has, and I think he has a fantastic skillset.”

Chubb is going to be the primary running back to start the season and will get all the touches that he can handle. During the second half of the year, things might change with Kareem Hunt coming back from suspension, and it will be interesting to see how the snaps are split up.

Chubb will no doubt still be a huge part of the offense, but before Hunt's suspension, he was considered by most one of the top couple running backs in the league. Having Hunt in the second half of the season should help keep both guys fresh, and that could be a key to a deep playoff run for the Browns.
