Besides a head coach, the Cleveland Browns are also in need of hiring a new general manager; they've begun their search for a feasible candidate. On Saturday, Cleveland requested permission to interview Philadelphia Eagles' Vice President Andrew Berry per Nate Ulrich.

Along with firing Freddie Kitchens as head coach, John Dorsey was also ousted as Cleveland's general manager. Dorsey served as the team's general manager from 2017-2019 and did a remarkable job adding talent to the roster.

Despite his ability to find talent, Jimmy Haslam saw it best that both sides part ways. Therefore, the Browns are going to need a new general manager at some point this offseason.

One of the first interviews that the team could conduct for the position could involve Berry. Berry spent the 2019 season as Philadelphia's Vice President of Football Operations. Before joining the Eagles' front office, he actually was Cleveland's Vice President of Player Personnel from 2016-2018.

Prior to his time with the Browns, Berry spent seven years with the Indianapolis Colts in their scouting department. He began his tenure as a scouting assistant and was promoted to pro scout for the Colts in 2011.

As for his last four seasons in Indianapolis, Berry held the title of pro scouting coordinator. Now, he could see another promotion from Vice President to General Manager after an impressive resume in the NFL.

The Browns have yet to make a decision on who to hire as the team's next head coach. It remains to be seen if Cleveland plans on hiring a head coach and then a general manager—or vice versa. Depending on what their ultimate plan is, Berry could be an interesting candidate for the team's vacant GM job.
