The Cleveland Browns‘ search for a new head coach is still ongoing as they still haven't found the right man to take over the reins.

The latest man to be linked to the Cleveland job is Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz as he's set to interview with the Browns, via Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Schwartz is a defensive mind who started his career as a linebacker for the Chicago Bears. However, his playing career was far from a successful run. He had a bit of stability with the Dallas Cowboys, but he didn't get a lot of playing time. After three years there, he played a season for the San Francisco 49ers before returning to Chicago for one last run.

Schwartz retired from the game in 1998 without starting a single game in his pro career.

Fortunately for the Browns coaching candidate, he found more success as a coach. He built his reputation as a brilliant football mind as a defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. He spent eight years there before getting his first head coaching job with the Detroit Lions. Schwartz managed to get the Lions to the wild card once in his five-year stint.

After being let go from the Lions, he spent a year as defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills before settling in with the Eagles. His defensive schemes helped Philly reach the playoffs thrice, one of which netted them a Super Bowl title.

The Browns desperately need a man who can turn their defense around to allow their young offense to find their groove. Schwartz may be the right man for the job.
