The Cleveland Browns are seemingly always looking to make changes as the struggling AFC North franchise continues toward the future. This time around, however, the Browns have made a personnel change — and not a coaching change — en route to officially waiving linebacker Tanner Vallejo on Monday afternoon.

The Browns formally announced the aforementioned roster move earlier in the day on Monday, wasting absolutely no time following the conclusion of Super Bowl 53.

The 24-year-old Vallejo appeared in 13 regular season games while making just one start for the Browns this past season. He totaled 20 tackles in all in addition to causing one forced fumble on defense. Going on to last only one season in Cleveland, Vallejo added seven special teams tackles as well in 2018-19.

It is also worth noting that he was placed on injured reserve due to a lingering hamstring injury back on December 28th.

Prior to arriving in Cleveland, Vallejo previously suited up for the Buffalo Bills. Lasting just one season in Buffalo as well, Vallejo, appeared in 15 regular season games as a member of the Bills in 2017-18 en route to recording a mere four tackles on defense. He was originally drafted by the Bills in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Boise State.

The Browns are certainly on the upswing with former Heisman Trophy winner and 2018 No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield now under center. However, and unfortunately for the up-and-coming Vallejo, he will not still be in Cleveland to see the eventual culmination come into fruition.
