Cleveland Browns rookie cornerback Denzel Ward will miss his team's season finale against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon due to a concussion, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

This marks the second time Ward has had a concussion this month, as he also missed Weeks 14 and 15 due to a head injury.

For a 21-year-old in his first NFL season, this is not a good sign, and Browns head coach Gregg Williams says he has spoken to Ward about altering his tackling technique to avoid more concussions in the future, per Nate Ulrich of The Akron Beach Journal.

Ward had a terrific year, registering 53 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and 11 passes defended en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

The Macedonia, Oh. native, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State University, was selected by the Browns with the fourth overall pick of the NFL Draft back in the spring.

Ward was one of two first-round picks for Cleveland this past May, with quarterback Baker Mayfield representing the other at No. 1.

It seems safe to say that they have both worked out so far, with the Browns owning a record of 7-7-1 and having an opportunity to put together their first winning season since 2007.

Cleveland actually briefly vaulted itself into playoff contention after defeating the Denver Broncos in Week 15, a major step forward for a franchise that had won just four games between 2015 and 2017 and has not made the playoffs since the 2002-03 campaign.

The Browns will also have a chance to knock the Ravens out of the playoffs this weekend.
