Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is still in the middle of a serious situation. While he has already been cleared of criminal charges stemming from multiple counts of indecent and sexual assault plus an attempted assault count, there remains the possibility of a suspension from the NFL. And given the gravity of the issues Watson is dealing with, it's likely that any suspension or penalty that the NFL would mete might likely be significant in nature.

A potential year-long suspension isn't being ruled out for Deshaun Watson, but if that winds up being the decision, the NFL Players' Association is reportedly going to make a legal challenge against it, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.

Another note: If Watson ends up incurring the full-year suspension the #NFL is seeking – either from the arbitrator or a league appeal of Robinson’s decision – I’m told his camp and the @NFLPA have already made the decision to file a lawsuit against the league in federal court.

However, as laid out by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the belief is that the expected suspension length would be worth half a season — max. Judge Sue L. Robinson will make a decision in the coming weeks after a three-day hearing:

As one source who has reviewed the materials submitted last week by the parties to Judge Sue L. Robinson told PFT on Monday, the final punishment most likely won’t be one year. The currently expected range is two to eight games.

Deshaun Watson signed a massive five-year extension deal with the Browns worth $230 million back in March after getting traded to Cleveland from the Houston Texans in a blockbuster deal.
