The Cleveland Browns are in the midst of another massively disappointing season under head coach Hue Jackson. The struggling NFL franchise has yet to win a game at the halfway point of the 2017 campaign with a rookie quarterback under center in DeShone Kizer.
Although only a rookie, Kizer hasn't exactly lived up to expectations in his first season. So much so that the team actually tried to make a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals for A.J. McCarron ahead of the NFL trade deadline. The trade fell through leaving Kizer to come to a realization, transcription via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.
“It’s part of this business,” Kizer said, via Cleveland.com. “It has absolutely nothing to do with my development and where this team stands. It’s another way of letting me know that I need to step my game up.”

After years and years of disappointment, the Browns brass seems eager to finally turn it around. Despite having only one win in 24 games thus far, Jackson appears to have the support of the decision-makers in Cleveland meaning he may have some more time to right the ship.
The real question moving forward is whether the team is content with Kizer or will continue pursuing other options to upgrade the quarterback position. It'll be interesting to see what moves the team makes in the offseason if Kizer isn't the answer.
