Duke Johnson has a new agent. Considering his new representation is the notoriously powerful Drew Rosenhaus, it should come as no surprise at all there's been no change in Johnson's status otherwise.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Johnson hired Rosenhaus as his new agent on Thursday, and still has every intention of being traded from the Cleveland Browns. His new agent, in fact, has assisted two previous players in finding their way out of Cleveland.

Johnson requested a trade from the Browns in early April. He's poised to earn fewer snaps in 2019 not just due to standout second-year running back Nick Chubb establishing himself as a franchise building block, but also because Cleveland signed former Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt in February. A Pro Bowler as a rookie and on track for another appearance last season, Hunt was released by the Chiefs in late November after video surfaced of him assaulting a woman at a Cleveland hotel in February 2018. He's been suspended by the league for the first eight games of 2019.

A four-year veteran, Johnson has been one of the Browns’ most consistent playmakers throughout his career, but notched personal-lows in rushes and catches last season as Chubb asserted himself as one of the most dynamic young backs in football.

Duke Johnson, 25, had 40 carries for 201 yards in addition to 47 catches for 429 yards and three touchdowns in 2018. He averages 4.3 yards per carry in his career, and has played in every game since being selected in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
