The Cleveland Browns came into the 2019 NFL season with extremely high hopes, but haven’t managed to live up to any of them. After their 27-13 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday, the Browns are now 2-5, and dangerously close to dropping completely out of the AFC playoff picture. With this in mind, Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens has said that anything is possible when it comes to fixing the issues.

Speaking to the media after Sunday’s loss (via The Chronicle-Telegram’s Scott Petrak), Kitchens noted that “everything is on the table” regarding lineup changes. What that means is still unknown, but judging by the poor play from the Browns, it seems as if Kitchens is ready to do whatever it takes in an effort to right the ship before it’s too late.

Despite their 2-5 record, the Browns still have an outside chance at competing in the postseason thanks to how poor the AFC has played. With games against the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, and division rival Pittsburgh Steelers coming up, the Browns can get back to .500 and make up some major ground on a playoff chase if they can win some games. However, in order to do that, they’ll need better contribution than they have received.

After a promising rookie season, quarterback Baker Mayfield has taken some major steps back this season, throwing six touchdowns to 12 interceptions on the season, with a very bad 67.8 passer rating. While it’s unlikely that Kitchens would bench Mayfield, if the Browns have any hopes of winning games, they’ll have to get better play from him above all else.
