Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt is set to make his 2019 NFL season debut in Week 10 against the Buffalo Bills after serving an eight-game suspension. It appears head coach Freddie Kitchens may already be envisioning a role for him in the backfield alongside Nick Chubb.

Chubb has established himself as the clear-cut workhorse in the Browns' offense. It seems Hunt could very well bite into his workload, via Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal:

Browns coach Freddie Kitchens on Kareem Hunt taking opportunities from Nick Chubb: Nick is about one thing and one thing only and that's winning. I don't think either one of those two are selfish at all.

There is no question that Kitchens' comments indicate that there will be a bit of a timeshare in the backfield for the rest of the season. Of course, it remains to be seen just how big of a role he has planned for Hunt.

Chubb has emerged into one of the most promising, young running backs in the league despite being part of this lackluster Browns' offense. He is currently fourth in the NFL in rushing with 803 yards and is well on his way to a Pro Bowl year. Unfortunately, it appears he is now slated to experience a dip in touches with Hunt in the mix.

Kitchens could simply be trying to reduce the wear and tear on Chubb by having Hunt serve as a solid complementary option. After all, he did lead the league in rushing as a rookie and this offense is desperate to try and turn things around following an abysmal start to the season.
