the Cleveland Browns have been busy bolstering their roster for the 2019 NFL season. Head coach Freddie Kitchens knows full well that expectations are now as high as ever.

There is obvious pressure that comes with coaching a talented team like the one Cleveland has. According to Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk, Kitchens is seemingly looking to embrace those expectations:

“At least they think enough of you to [have] the expectations. But their expectations of us don’t change our expectations. So I don’t care if they thought we were going to be the last team in the league. Our expectations wouldn’t change. I don’t mind expectations. I’ve never seen a team end up in the Super Bowl that didn’t have those expectations. So if that’s your goal is to go to the Super Bowl, you better have those expectations.”

Kitchens' comments should hardly come as any surprise. The Browns enjoyed a bit of a resurgence last season when they finished the 2018 campaign with a 7-8-1 record.

Although it was not a winning season, it had surpassed the low expectations that were in Cleveland for so long.

Regardless, that has now changed thanks to the massive influx of star power to Cleveland in recent years. The Browns kickstarted things last season with the addition of quarterback Baker Mayfield, wide receiver Jarvis Landry, and running back Nick Chubb.

The arrival of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has added even more hype to the potential on offense for the Browns.

The onus will be on Kitchens to find a way to put it all together.
