The Cleveland Browns had high hopes for Grant Delpit in 2020, but the team is anxiously waiting to see the extent of his injury. During Monday's practice, Delpit was carted off of the field and is undergoing tests for an Achilles injury.

Back in April, the Browns took Delpit with the No. 44 pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Coming out of LSU, Delpit was known for his playmaking and was one of the best safety prospects available in this year's draft.

Amid LSU's National Championship season in 2019, Delpit contributed seven pass breakups and two interceptions. Altogether, in his three seasons at LSU, Delpit accumulated 24 pass breakups and eight interceptions. Due to his ball-hawking skills, he was projected to be inserted into Cleveland's starting defense.

Unfortunately, the rookie second-round pick went down with what could possibly be a serious injury for the Browns. After going down with the injury, Delpit was seen hitting the ground before they brought the cart out for him. Since being carted off, it's been discovered that Delpit is likely dealing with an Achilles injury and is undergoing tests.

If the first-year safety is forced to miss any time, then Andrew Sendejo would be the next man up at free safety. Sendejo signed with the Browns this offseason after spending the majority of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. Of course, Cleveland's new head coach, Kevin Stefanski, came from Minnesota.

Regardless of whether or not the Browns feel comfortable with Sendejo starting, they are likely going to be in the market for a safety. At the same time, we wish the best for Delpit as he awaits the news of his injury.
