It's certainly unfortunate, but after leading the Cleveland Browns to their first postseason appearance since 2002, head coach Kevin Stefanski will not be able to coach his squad as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round on Sunday. Stefanski tested positive for COVID-19 and will be forced to watch the game in the same manner that many Browns fans will: alone in his basement as he self-isolates.

This is definitely not the way Stefanski or the Browns envisioned their postseason to start, but they're going to need to power through this adversity if they want to advance to the Divisional Round.

The NFL will not allow Stefanski to at least coach them remotely from his basement. This could have been a viable workaround to let the 38-year-old do some play-calling through a monitor as they play their first postseason game in nearly two decades. Unfortunately, due to the NFL's ruling on these situations, Stefanski will just have to watch on his television and hope his squad comes out on top.

Aside from the first-year Browns coach, tight ends coach Drew Petzing and defensive backs coach Jeff Howard also tested positive for the coronavirus and will not be with the team on Sunday. Offensive line coach Bill Callahan and assistant offensive line coach Scott Peters already missed their Week 17 win over the Steelers and will also be out.

Furthermore, receiver KhaDarel Hodge and offensive guard Joel Bitonio have also been ruled out after turning in positive COVID-19 tests, so the Browns will be missing a few key players.

Mike Priefer is Cleveland's acting head coach in place of Stefanski on Sunday. Priefer will be trying to lead the underdog Browns to an upset win over the rival Steelers. Cleveland went 11-5 this season, while Pittsburgh went 12-4 after starting 11-0.
