Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has never been shy about his criticism of former head coach Hue Jackson.

After calling Jackson “fake” last year, Mayfield revisited the criticisms this season, and said that he hasn’t changed his view on things since then. According to Hue Jackson, that doesn’t affect him too much.

Speaking to Colin Cowherd during a recent appearance on Cowherd’s FOX Sports Radio via Pro Football Talk, Jackson was questioned on if he’s bothered by what Mayfield has said.

According to Jackson, his long tenure in the NFL has taught him to never get too affected by much, so he doesn’t seem to be bothered.

“It doesn’t bother me personally,” Jackson said. “I’ve been in the NFL for a long time and seen a lot of different ways of people handling things. He has to do what he feels he needed to do and that’s how he’s handled it. Everyone is going to handle things differently and that’s how he chooses to make sure he’s ready to go and ready to play. The Browns weren’t playing Hue Jackson, the Browns were playing the Bengals.”

From the sounds of it, both Mayfield and Jackson don’t seem any closer to becoming friendly with each other, and it’s likely that both parties will continue to keep out of touch with each other. Mayfield may have had fun getting revenge against his former coach, but for the Browns, it might be time to turn the page.

Although Jackson is no longer with the Cincinnati Bengals, they'll continue having to see the Bengals twice a year, and will keep trying to defeat them as the Browns aim to contend in the AFC.
