The Cleveland Browns ushered in some significant changes to their coaching staff with the arrival of Kevin Stefanski this offseason. It seems the other teams in the AFC North have taken notice of the move and what it means for quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Stefanski did a stellar job with Cousins as the offensive coordinator in Minnesota during the 2019 campaign. According to ESPN's Diana Russini, a fellow coach in the division feels this will help pay huge dividends for Mayfield:

“Stefanski had great success with Kirk Cousins…Baker Mayfield is way more talented. This could be really good fit for Cleveland”

Although there may be some speculation regarding which of the three coaches made the comments regarding Cousins, it is clear that they are not overlooking the new pairing in Cleveland.

While Cousins may have been coming off his best year from a statistical standpoint prior to the 2019 campaign, the Vikings offense was still in a state of flux thanks to a lack of balance. Fortunately, Stefanski was able to crack the code once he took over as offensive coordinator and it led to remarkable improvement for this group last season.

The Browns are now tasking Stefanski to do the same with Mayfield coming off a year where he seemingly regressed under center. Regardless, the front office has certainly done what it can to surround him with better personnel to help elevate his game. It appears that there is at least one team in the AFC North that has made sure to take notice.
