The Cleveland Browns will interview Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski for their head-coaching job next Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Stefanski served as the Vikings' offensive coordinator for just three games in 2018, relieving John DeFilippo, who was fired after an anemic loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14.

Prior to his promotion, Stefanski held a post as Minnesota's quarterbacks coach, a job he began in 2017.

However, the 36-year-old originally joined the Vikings' coaching staff all the way back in 2006, serving as an assistant to the head coach for three years before becoming the assistant quarterbacks coach in 2009, a position he held all the way through 2013.

Stefanski was then given the job of tight ends coach in 2014, serving at that post for two years before being promoted to running backs coach in 2016.

The New York Giants requested to interview Stefanski for their offensive coordinator position last year but were denied permission by the Vikings.

The Browns' list of potential head-coaching candidates is getting longer and longer, and it is somewhat puzzling.

Gregg Williams went 5-3 as interim head coach of Cleveland this year, turning the team's season around after Hue Jackson was fired. Williams even briefly vaulted the Browns into playoff contention after a Week 15 win over the Denver Broncos.

Cleveland ended up finishing 7-8-1 on the year, marking its best record since it went 10-6 all the way back in 2007.

The Browns have not made the playoffs since the 2002-03 campaign, representing the longest active postseason drought in the NFL.
