The Cleveland Browns fell to yet another disappointing defeat on Sunday afternoon in a 38-24 loss to the Detroit Lions.

The situation has only further compounded as star linebacker Jamie Collins has reportedly suffered a torn MCL that will force him to miss the rest of the 2017 NFL season, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The injury occurred early in the first quarter after Collins intercepted a pass from Lions Pro Bowl quarterback Matthew Stafford and was tackled by offensive lineman Graham Glasgow in an awkward angle that saw his left leg crumble beneath him.

The 28-year-old had racked up 28 total tackles with 1.0 sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble in six games played in his first full year with the Browns. Undrafted rookie linebacker James Burgess is expected to take his spot in the starting lineup moving forward this season.

Collins had inked a four-year, $50 million deal to remain in Cleveland this offseason after he was acquired during the 2016 campaign from the New England Patriots. The loss of the former Pro Bowler just further accentuates what has been another disappointing season for the Browns as the only winless team left in the NFL.

Cleveland will look to finally right the ship with their first win in Week 11 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
