The Cleveland Browns are coming off a tough overtime road loss to the Oakland Raiders that has pushed them back to a tie for last place in the AFC North divisional standings.

In the days leading up to their Week 5 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, the team is taking the precautionary route with both Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry and rookie Antonio Callaway due to knee injuries, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

The Browns have talked about cutting down on wide receiver Antonio Callaway‘s workload in the coming weeks and he wasn’t on the field at all during Wednesday’s practice.

The Browns were also without wide receiver Jarvis Landry, who was listed with the same ailment.

Cleveland has depended on the duo greatly in the passing game over the first month of the season to lead the charge as the primary targets. Landry has been the clear-cut main asset as he has 24 catches on 47 targets for 312 receiving yards and a touchdown. This includes a pair of 100 receiving yard performances while making at least four receptions in each game over that stretch.

Meanwhile, Callaway has been utilized to a larger degree as a deep-ball threat in the passing game hauling in 10 catches for 155 receiving yards and a touchdown. He had some notable issues with drops this year that have prevented him from making a larger impact with potentially game-changing plays. At the same time, he has become a favorite target for rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield over the last two weeks since he has taken the field.

The Browns are simply taking a precautionary approach with the health of their two primary receivers in order to keep them on pace to play in Sunday's game. There hasn't been any concern up to this point that it will put their status in danger for the contest, but it will be something to monitor over the next few days.
