Jarvis Landry originally planned to avoid any surgery with the Cleveland Browns this offseason, but he's had a change of thought. On Thursday morning, Landry revealed he reversed course and underwent offseason hip surgery.

Near the end of the 2019 season, Landry pointed out that he was diagnosed with a fractured sacrum. The five-time Pro-Bowler was initially given the diagnosis during organized team activities last offseason.

Despite his nagging hip ailment, Landry went on to have one of the best seasons of his career in 2019. The six-year veteran led the Browns with 83 receptions for 1,174 yards and six touchdowns.

When the 2019 season concluded, Landry wasn't on board with the idea of undergoing surgery. The reason why Landry originally put off the idea of receiving surgery was due to his timetable of recovery.

However, Landry decided to take part in the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown and the Pro Bowl near the end of January. After participating in both events, Landry was reminded of how painful it was to play with the hip injury.

Therefore, he caved in and finally chose to undergo surgery earlier this month. Luckily for the Browns, Adam Schefter reported that Landry is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2020 season.

Besides Landry, Odell Beckham Jr. also had to undergo surgery this offseason. The All-Pro wideout dealt with a core injury throughout the 2019 season that prevented him from spending valuable practice time with the Browns.

In light of that, the Browns are likely going to take a cautious approach with their two valuable receivers. At the least, both Landry and Beckham should be back on the field by the time training camp rolls around.
