The Cleveland Browns are a brand new team with brand new expectations, and with all of that comes a new system that the players need to learn.

So far, it does not seem to be going as planned, as a report surfaced on Thursday that Browns offensive coordinator Todd Monken's transition has not been all that smooth and that Freddie Kitchens is taking on a larger role in offensive play-calling as a result (per Mike Silver of NFL.com).

Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry didn't expound upon Monken, but he did say that because there is so much to learn within the offense, it's not a surprise that things have been somewhat rocky early on:

“I have no idea about that,” Landry said of Monken, via Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. “Freddie has done a great job of monitoring, stepping in when he needs to step in. Todd continues to teach us the way — every guy is different as far as learning so continues to try to teach us. We kinda go from there. It’s a new offense. There’s a lot to learn. There’s a lot of moving parts. It takes some time, not everything goes smoothly.”

Of course, it's still very early in the process, and training camp hasn't even started yet, so some bumps in the road are to be expected. The key is getting this all sorted out over the next couple of months so Cleveland's offense is prepared to take the NFL by storm once the regular season begins in September.
