In the last few weeks, Cleveland Browns All-Pro left tackle Joe Thomas has been quite vocal about his desire for Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins to sign with the franchise in NFL free agency.

Thomas has once again made that notion crystal clear on social media Thursday morning in response to a tweet by Cousins by making an obvious pitch to him to seriously consider making the jump to Cleveland this upcoming offseason.

The Browns are expected to be one of several teams that will make a strong pursuit of the 29-year-old in free agency. It has been a glaring area of need that Cleveland has had since being reactivated back in the NFL in the 1999 season with 18 different starting quarterbacks in the nearly two decades that have followed.

Cousins has shown to be a productive quarterback that can lead a team to success since getting the chance to start. In the last three seasons, he has recorded than 4,000 passing yards with at least 25 touchdowns and a passer rating above 90 in each campaign over the last three years. He is also coming off another highly productive year where he threw for 4,093 yards on a 64.3 percent completion percentage with 27 touchdown passes to 13 interceptions and 93.9 passer rating.

However, what may hurt the Browns chances is that Cousins has voiced that the only true factor that will go in his decision-making process is that he values winning above all else. Cleveland hasn't any consistent success since 1999 with just one playoff appearance over that span.

The front office does have the financial means to offer him a lucrative deal with more than $110 million in projected salary cap space this upcoming offseason, but there is no certainty that will work in their favor. The team also holds the first and fourth overall picks that could be used to acquire more young talent that to build the roster around Cousins if he were seriously interested in joining the Browns.

At this point, it's hard to envision Cousins choosing to join Cleveland, but Thomas' public recruit can do nothing but aid their chances.
