Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has temporarily stepped away from the team to undergo more treatment to help him stay in line with his recovery. However, the Browns have yet to place an exact timetable for when Gordon will return to the team.

But as Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com notes, general manager John Dorsey has voiced during an interview on Friday re-affirmed that the 27-year-old will definitely be back with the team.

On Friday, Browns GM John Dorsey told 92.3 The Fan that he still believes Gordon will rejoin the Browns, despite the NFL saying before the start of the camp that “there's no timetable for his return.”

“I told you all he would be here, and he will be here,” said Dorsey.

Although there is no timetable for his return from the personal matter, this does bring some clarity to the situation that Gordon should factor into the equation at some point in time in the 2018 season. The Browns are counting on him to be a major factor in the puzzle in the passing game as he proved in his brief time on the field last season that his playmaking ability hasn't dropped off any capacity.

Gordon was able to put all that on display in the second half of the 2017 season in his brief time on the field 18 catches on 43 targets for 335 receiving yards and a touchdown in just five games played. This has given the franchise much belief that he can recapture his Pro Bowl form over the duration of an entire campaign, especially with improved play under center with quarterback Tyrod Taylor and other formidable receiving options around him in Pro Bowler Jarvis Landry and Corey Coleman.

Ultimately, this lies on Gordon's shoulders to prove that he's ready to return to the field once he gets back into the right mental space to operate normally and comfortably.
