Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen is a highly-touted prospect who stands a good chance of having his name called first by Commissioner Roger Goodell in the 2018 NFL Draft. However, it just so happens that the Cleveland Browns, who seem to be cursed given their abominable track record when it comes to quarterbacks, have the top pick.

Some players – like draftmate Josh Rosen – might balk at the prospect of going to Cleveland, with the Browns coming off just the second 0-16 season in NFL history. But in an appearance on 92.3 The Fan, Allen says he is ready to embrace the challenge of going to Cleveland and would relish the opportunity to be the long-suffering franchise’s long-awaited savior.

“If I’m fortunate enough to become a Cleveland Brown, you can expect everything from me,” Allen said. “I want to be the guy that turns around the Cleveland Browns. The guy that does that is going to be immortalized in Cleveland forever. To think about that and to put yourself in that situation and in those shoes, you gotta love that as a quarterback and you gotta love that as a football player and competitor. This is something that can really be set in stone forever, if you’re the guy that can help turn this Cleveland Browns team around.”

Allen is right on the money in his belief that he’ll basically go down in history along with LeBron James as one of Cleveland's all-time legends if he can help make the Browns competitive once again.

It remains to be seen whether Allen actually has the ability to lift the Browns from years of despair if he does go to Cleveland. However, the confidence and the competitive spirit he's shown in his bold statement could potentially earn him points within the Browns front office and may just result in him going No. 1 overall on draft day.
