The Cleveland Browns put forth an encouraging performance in the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers forcing a 21-21 tie.

Although it was a limited appearance for star wide receiver Josh Gordon, he made his impact felt with a 17-yard touchdown connection with quarterback Tyrod Taylor to tie the game with just under two minutes left in the fourth quarter. According to Nate Ulrich of The Beacon Journal, Gordon has voiced that he wants to make a strong impact on the game with his play alongside Taylor this season.

“The biggest jump for most teams is after that first week,” Gordon said before Wednesday’s practice, “and for us, we’ve got to take off in a big way.”

There is a clear bond between Taylor and Gordon that could help the Browns achieve much success on the field in the passing game. This could easily be one of the staples of their offense with the 27-year-old being a potential part of their talented wide receiver core with Jarvis Landry. In his brief time back on the field, Gordon has proven that he is still an elite talent in the league behind his playmaking ability in the passing game that he has shown prior to his lengthy suspension.

Meanwhile, Taylor has proven to be a capable quarterback that can lead a team to the playoffs. He has a strong arm that could allow for Gordon to make plays down the field that should bode well for the Browns to feature that in their offensive game plan. It may just be a matter of the former Pro Bowler getting his feet under him as he had missed almost all of training camp to focus on his sobriety and keeping his personal life in order.

All that is left is for him to take advantage of the opportunity in front of him on the field to showcase his superstar talent while helping the Browns achieve much success.
