The Freddie Kitchens experiment did not exactly go over all that well in Cleveland, as the Browns fired Kitchens after just one season as head coach.

Cleveland has replaced Kitchens with now-former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski, who was also a hot head-coaching candidate last offseason before ultimately returning to the Vikings.

Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer is obviously very familiar with Stefanski, and he had nothing but good things to say about Stefanski when asked about him this week:

“I think Kevin is very organized,” Zimmer said at the Scouting Combine, per Jeff Risdon of Browns Wire. “I think he’s very detailed. I think all of those things will help.”

Stefanski had been a member of the Vikings' organization since 2006, serving in a variety of different roles before taking over as offensive coordinator midway through 2018.

“He’s not afraid to ask for help if he needs it,” added Zimmer. “He’s not going to go in there and be a dictator. He’s going to go in and tell his philosophy and how he wants to do it, and he’ll ask for the opinions of other people.”

Thanks to a busy offseason in which they landed players such as Odell Beckham Jr. and Kareem Hunt, the Browns were pegged as Super Bowl contenders by many entering 2019.

Instead, Cleveland ended up winning just six games and missing the playoffs entirely, extending the franchise's NFL-worst playoff drought to 17 seasons.

Perhaps Stefanski is the man to finally come in and end nearly two decades of losing in Ohio.
