With the Cleveland Browns' season officially coming to an end on Monday, all eyes are now on how the front office will improve its squad for the upcoming campaign. Much has been made about the future of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. — an issue that head coach Kevin Stefanski addressed during his recent media availability.

According to the 38-year-old coach, he is looking forward to getting Beckham back on the field next season — in a Browns uniform:

“I texted with him this morning. I know he’s working really hard to get better in his rehab. I’m excited to get him back here,” Stefanski said on Monday, via the Browns on Twitter (h/t Myles Simmons of NBC Sports). “I know it was not easy for him being away from his teammates, especially as these games got bigger and into the playoffs. I know he definitely wanted to be a part of it.”

Cleveland had some unprecedented success this season, and this was in spite of the fact that they lost their star WR as early as Week 7 due to a season-ending ACL tear. Beckham did not exactly have a tremendous campaign in his second season with the Browns, with the three-time Pro-Bowler logging just 23 completed passes for 319 yards and three TDs. Then again, his season was cut short by injury, so we need to cut him some slack here.

It appears that Stefanski is taking on the same mindset, as he hopes to bring back Beckham next season. It is worth noting, however, that this is anything but a certainty at this point, with the possibility of a trade away from Cleveland still looming for the high-profile wide receiver.
