Kyler Murray spent one season as Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield's teammate at the University of Oklahoma, serving as his backup as Mayfield went on to win the Heisman Trophy award in 2017.

Now, Murray will get the chance to join Mayfield in the NFL, but Mayfield is already several steps ahead of Murray, as he is on a solid Cleveland Browns team that just added one of the best wide receivers in the league in Odell Beckham Jr.

Murray told NFL Network that he texted Mayfield on Tuesday night after the Browns trade with the New York Giants went down, and while he said he couldn't get into Mayfield's feelings on the deal, he did say that he was “a little jealous” of the fact that Mayfield now gets to throw the ball to Beckham.

Not only that, but Mayfield will also be throwing the football to Jarvis Landry, so Cleveland could actually have a pretty explosive offense heading into 2019.

When was the last time we ever said that?

Murray may very well be the No. 1 overall pick in next month's NFL Draft, as the hot rumor is that the Arizona Cardinals are coveting him with the top selection and could trade away Josh Rosen, their first-round pick from a year ago, to clear the way for the signal-caller.

A multi-sport athlete, Murray was also chosen by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the MLB Draft last June, but the 21-year-old seems to be leaning toward football.

Murray is coming off of a season in which he threw for 4,361 yards, 42 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while rushing for 1,001 yards and 12 scores.
