Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is reportedly playing against the Detroit Lions today despite carrying a number of injuries. Mayfield has been fighting for full fitness throughout the season just to play. While he is not listed as having any injury status, sources have revealed that the 26-year-old is currently playing through separated left shoulder, foot, and knee injuries.

Mayfield's foot injury is a bruised heel, while his knee injury is a bone bruise. The knee injury is what scared Mayfield in the Browns' last game as he said he was feeling numbness in that area. Speaking to reporters, Mayfield said:

“Caught the nerve on the outside of my leg and it made it go numb so the outside of my knee is sore and tender, but that numbness where you can't feel your leg is pretty scary. I had not had that before, but another new thing for me.”

Mayfield's knee numbness eventually subsided and he was able to participate in a full practice session on Friday. He is still not 100 percent fit, though. The labrum in his left shoulder is still torn, although the fracture in his shoulder has healed. While this represents some good news, Mayfield continues to play like he's made of glass. On the number of injuries he has picked up this season, he said:

“This is probably the most beat up I have been in my career, and it is not like it is one particular thing; it is multiple.”

Baker Mayfield and the Browns face the Detroit Lions today, entering the match currently fourth in the AFC North standings.
