The Cleveland Browns are in the middle of a search for their new head coach and Mike McCarthy's name has come up quite often. John Dorsey and company have quite a few names that they are going to interview, but the schedule for McCarthy's process has been revealed.

According to a report from Rob Demovsky of ESPN, McCarthy's interview with the Browns will occur on Thursday.

Former Packers coach Mike McCarthy is expected to interview with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, a source said. McCarthy also has something set up with the Jets but it's not clear if that will happen before or after the interview with the Browns.

McCarthy would be an intriguing hire for the Browns. After going 0-16 during the 2017 NFL season, Cleveland was able to rebuild quickly and finished this season with a 7-8-1 record.

Everything started by drafting quarterback Baker Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. They also brought in running back Nick Chubb in the draft. Both players appear to be major building blocks for an offense that desperately needed help.

If the Browns are able to hire McCarthy to be their next head coach, they will take a big step forward. He is known as an offensive-minded head coach and could work wonders for Mayfield.

During his 13-year tenure with the Green Bay Packers, McCarthy was able to lead his team to a Super Bowl win. He also compiled a 125-77 record.

Cleveland is heading in the right direction and appear to be a potential playoff caliber team in the near future. McCarthy is not a perfect coach, but he could be the right guy to take the Browns back to the postseason.
