The Chicago Bears made headlines after making quite the investment to bring defensive end Khalil Mack over from the Oakland Raiders. It seems Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is glad his team was not in the running.

Garrett has expressed major confidence in defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah throughout the offseason. According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, that did not change when Mack's name was made available for trade.

“Come on now,” Garrett said. “I’ve been vouching for my man E-man this whole offseason. So I’m glad to have him on my side, and I’m not going to try to trade him for anybody.”

Garrett's comments should come as no surprise. He echoed the same sentiment during the 2018 NFL Draft when there was speculation regarding what Cleveland was going to do with their two top-5 picks. Although defensive end Bradley Chubb was touted as the best defensive player in the draft, Garrett was not enamored with the thought of adding him to the line. The Browns followed through on his wishes by selecting cornerback Denzel Ward with the fourth overall pick.

There is good reason for Garrett to be confident. Ogbah has shown plenty of promise since being taken in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He registered 29 tackles and 4.0 sacks in 10 games last season before he was sidelined with a fractured foot.

Despite Ogbah's potential, it is still difficult to see why Garrett would not want to add even more talent up front. There is no such thing as having too many pass-rushers in today's NFL. The former No. 1 overall pick is going to find out very quickly why it pays to have serious depth up front, especially as the grueling season begins to take its toll. That said, Garrett has set some high expectations for himself and Ogbah moving forward,
