The Cleveland Browns have not had any success with their quarterbacks over the last decade so they are trying to be extra careful with Baker Mayfield. When the season started, Baker Mayfield was on the bench and the team tried to ease him into the role.

With Tyrod Taylor being injured the team was forced to turn to Mayfield and now he has been thrown another curveball with a new offensive coordinator coming into the mix this week.

New offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens was asked about Mayfield's development and he said he has been impressed with what he has seen, and all he wants out of him is to work hard and improve a little each day.

“Baker has done a very good job,” Kitchens said via Pro Football Talk. “People are going to make adjustments to him, and he’s making adjustments, also. He’s going to have some learning curves, too, that he has to get through. He’s doing a good job of working. All we want out of Baker and out of everybody around him is to keep their head down, work continually every day and try to get a little better every day.”

Kitchens will be using the same offensive playbook that Todd Haley used this season which should make the transition for Mayfield a bit easier. It's going to be a new voice in his ear, but besides that, not much else should change. On the season Mayfield is completing 58.3 percent of his passes for 1471 yards and eight touchdowns. He has also thrown six interceptions.
