It turns out that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. handing out money after LSU's National Championship win is the least of his worries. According to Roman Antonio Vargas of Nola.com, the New Orleans police obtained an arrest warrant accusing Beckham of simple battery after an incident in the LSU locker room.

According to a police spokesperson, a video shows Beckham Jr. slapping an officer's butt. The police originally sought charges for misdemeanor sexual battery, but a judge declined that.

This is probably something that will get pleaded down with no jail time, but the NFL could still hand him a suspension or a fine under the personal conduct policy.

Beckham Jr. was also seen handing out money to players after the game. The school first claimed the money was fake, but later said it could be real and the team was working with the NCAA to figure out the next steps.

“We are aware of the situation regarding Odell Beckham Jr. interacting with LSU student-athletes and others unaffiliated with the team following the championship game Monday night, the school said in the statement via 247 Sports. “Initial information suggested bills that were exchanged were novelty bills. Information and footage reviewed since shows apparent cash may have also been given to LSU student-athletes. We were in contact with the NCAA and the SEC immediately upon learning of this situation in which some of our student-athletes may have been placed in a compromising position. We are working with our student-athletes, the NCAA and the SEC in order to rectify the situation.”

Maybe it's time for Beckham to take a little time away from LSU while all this gets sorted out and focus on the Browns and his offseason.
