While most players around the NFL were training at fancy facilities this offseason, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb was back where it all began practicing with his high school football team. Chubb went back to Cedartown, Georgia and worked out with the high schoolers and along the way, tried to teach them little tips to help them get better.

His former coach Doyle Kelley said to the guys inside the locker room he isn't a football star; he is just another guy working out with them.

“He’s just ‘Nick’ to us,” Cedartown High football coach Doyle Kelley said via The Athletic. “He’s right in there with the kids, lifting weights, catching passes, working on the VertiMax, talking to players, cutting up with them.

“He was here almost every day. I wonder how many other NFL players are doing that?”

Chubb has also taken Cedartown star running back Kobe Pryor who is committed to Clemson under his wing and has been working with him for the last few years.

“It shows how much respect he has for his old school and that he still cares,” Pryor said. “He’s an inspiration. He’s all about helping us and showing us anybody can do what he’s doing right now.”

This offseason Chubb has been working on pass-catching, and most of that work was done in Cedartown. He sometimes would drive to Atlanta to catch passes from other quarterbacks, but most of the work was done in his hometown.

“No one (from the Browns) said anything to me about it,” Chubb said. “I knew I had to get better at it so I took it upon myself to work on it.”
