Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield may have an outgoing personality and may have a loose attitude in the locker room, but that does not mean he is not a hard worker.

Browns offensive coordinator Todd Monken is very impressed by Mayfield and says that people seem to be misunderstanding the type of guy Mayfield really is:

“You can certainly see the competitive spirit,’’ Monken told reporters, via the Browns' YouTube channel. “He likes having fun. The best way I can put it is he likes to have fun but he’s not a clown. I think people misconstrue how much he likes having fun playing the game and around people.”

Monken added how much Mayfield wants to be coached and how much he desires to get better:

“I’m telling you, when you’re in the meetings and you’re out here, he wants to be coached, he wants to be great and he’s a serious guy when it comes to the game of football,” he said.

Mayfield is coming off of a spectacular rookie campaign in which he threw for 3,725 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while completing 63.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 93.7.

There are very high expectations for the 24-year-old and the Browns in general entering 2019, as many are picking Cleveland to win the AFC North division after it acquired the likes of Odell Beckham Jr., Kareem Hunt, Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson this offseason.

The Browns went 7-8-1 this past year, marking their best finish since winning 10 games all the way back in 2007.
