Odell Beckham Jr. was traded from the New York Giants to the Cleveland Browns this offseason. Although at first he seemed shocked, he has fully embraced playing for a new team.

Beckham recently took a trip to London and did an interview with Complex while he was overseas. He touched on a variety of topics including about his soccer skills as a kid.

The most eye-popping part of the interview wasn't about soccer, but when Beckham said he didn't think he could ever reach his full potential in the Big Apple.

“I can’t wait to get going. I just felt with the Giants I was just stuck at a place that wasn’t working for me anymore,” Beckham said. “I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to reach my full potential there; mentally, physically, spiritually, everything I felt capable of doing, I just couldn’t see it happening there. So I think allowing me to be in an environment where I can be myself and give it a different approach, I feel like my football will benefit. I’m just excited about being able to play football again and not have to deal with all the other stuff and politics that came with my previous role.”

There is a lot to be said about playing in a new environment, but some of the negative attention he received in the Big Apple probably could have been avoided. As long as the Browns win games and Beckham is focused on football, the media in Cleveland will probably be a lot nicer than the press was in New York.
