The spotlight afforded him by playing with the New York Giants helped Odell Beckham Jr. become one of the most famous professional athletes in the world. Now that his star has risen to such rare and esteemed heights, the three-time Pro Bowler wants to cement his status as a “legendary” player by leading the Cleveland Browns to glory.

In an eye-opening interview with Mark Anthony Green of GQ, Beckham specified that one of the reasons he's excited to be playing with the Browns is what it would mean for him to help the long-suffering franchise win a Super Bowl.

“I'm so excited about the opportunity that I have to be in Cleveland! I think it goes for everything I stand for when I talk about legendary,” he said. “The Catch was cool. It was legendary, in a sense. But legendary is going to Cleveland and trying to win a championship.”

Beckham was traded to Cleveland in March in exchange for first and third-round picks in the NFL draft and promising third-year safety Jabrill Peppers. Giants general manager Dave Gettleman had previously tried to squash rumors that his team had any interest in trading him, telling reporters in late February that New York didn’t sign Beckham to a five-year, $95 million extension last August only to trade him less than a year later.

Beckham had 77 catches for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns despite playing in just 12 games last season. Under rookie head coach and offensive guru Freddie Kitchens, playing with talent the likes of franchise quarterback Baker Mayfield and All-Pro receiver Jarvis Landry, expect him to comfortably surpass those numbers during his debut season with the Browns.
