No matter where Cleveland Browns superstar Odell Beckham Jr. goes, he finds himself the subject of heavy criticism.

After being criticized for years as a member of the New York Giants for behavior such as skipping offseason workouts and making controversial comments through the media, Beckham hasn't escaped his detractors in Cleveland.

Beckham missed all of the Browns voluntary workouts earlier this offseason, leading to chastisement from fans, the media and even his own head coach in Freddie Kitchens, who was clearly not thrilled about the receiver's absence.

Now, Beckham is trying to get away from it all, taking to Instagram stories to say that he is “going away till July 1st for trainin,” per Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

“Don’t hit me, unless it’s beyond urgent. Preciate the love always. Time to lock in!! #BootCamp see y’all soooon.’’

To be fair to Beckham, he was present at Cleveland's mandatory minicamp, so he has been there when it has been required.

Still, based on his past, any little thing that Beckham does that can be construed as negative is going to be blown up by fans and media members alike, and it's hard to blame them.

That being said, so long as Beckham produces and doesn't become a distraction, you have to take the good with the bad, and the good with Beckham is really, really good.

The 26-year-old is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games, as he missed the final four games of the season due to a quad injury.
