Initial reports suggest that the knee injury suffered by Cleveland Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be severe, though a Monday morning MRI will reveal more about the superstar's condition.

Beckham suffered the injury on a Baker Mayfield interception in the early stages of the Browns' victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Browns did manage to beat the Bengals, 37-34, following a 35-30 win over Cincinnati earlier in the season. It is clear that Cleveland can score against Cincinnati. Beckham is an excellent player, but he isn't needed against a team — and a defense — of the Bengals' caliber.

Beckham will be needed for the Browns against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the other more formidable teams in the AFC. This alarming report before Monday's MRI raises fears that Cleveland and first-year head coach Kevin Stefanski won't have an ace playmaker on the field.

We'll see what Monday's MRI reveals.
