Although training camp is set to begin this week, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. got a head start on building their rapport in Los Angeles earlier this month.

The two were finally able to get well-acquainted with each other following the splash the Browns made this offseason. According to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal, Beckham left the workout feeling optimistic about the 2019 NFL season:

“It went great. Baker’s ready to sling it, and we’re ready to win some games.”

It is encouraging to see that Odell Beckham is seemingly impressed with what he has seen from Baker Mayfield thus far. He was not shy about expressing his frustration with the underwhelming play of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. There is no question that all eyes will be fixed on his developing relationship with Mayfield moving forward.

No team has generated more hype going into the 2019 campaign than the Browns have thanks to the influx of star power they have added to the roster in recent years. Their turnaround has been led by the emergence of Mayfield under center. The former No. 1 overall pick was able to make do with his supporting cast as a rookie and fans in Cleveland are now chomping at the bit to see what he can do with one of the NFL's elite wideouts.

It is safe to say that Beckham is looking forward to leading the receiving corps alongside his good friend and former LSU teammate Jarvis Landry. Landry's presence should undoubtedly help take some of the focus off Mayfield's new No. 1 wideout.
