The Cleveland Browns, who made the postseason for the first time in almost 20 years last season, were hoping that star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was going to be ready against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The former New York Giant suffered a devastating ACL injury in October 2020, and there were positive signs that he was going to be able to make his return.

But according to ESPN's Jake Trotter, the Browns updated Beckham's status around one hour before the game against the Chiefs, stating that the wide receiver is inactive. That's very disappointing for both Beckham and Browns fans.

Beckham was traded from the Giants to the Browns in March 2019. While he has not exactly been great for the franchise, he did go over 1,000 yards receiving his first season with the franchise. The ACL tear seven games in ruined Beckham's 2020 season, which saw Cleveland reach the Divisional Round of the playoffs before losing to Sunday's opponent, the Chiefs.

Whenever Beckham is cleared to return, he will make the Browns that much better. Baker Mayfield is certainly looking forward to getting OBJ back on the field later this season.
