Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. opened up about missing out on the team's first playoff appearance since 2002.

Beckham suffered a torn ACL in the team's Week 7 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, sidelining him for the remainder of the year. The mercurial Browns wideout mostly went dark on social media, though he issued numerous statements of support for his team heading into the playoffs and prior to last Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Beckham took to Instagram to explain his headspace Wednesday morning, saying it was “bittersweet” to miss out on the team's success:

“It was a bittersweet season being on the outside looking in when all I wanted was to be in it with the team,” Beckham said in the post, via Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. “I had to put my pride aside and just watch it unfold. I’m proud and inspired by this squads growth and effort this year.”

Will Beckham have the chance to suit up for the Dawg Pound again?

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported after the injury the Browns might look to trade Beckham in the coming offseason. However, there is reason to believe OBJ could be back with Cleveland next year.

The Browns had one of the strongest running games in football, with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt leading a two-headed monster. But there was a relative shortage of explosive plays in the passing game, an issue that came to the forefront in the loss to the Chiefs.

Beckham can provide those home-run type plays down the field and should give quarterback baker Mayfield an option in getting over the top of opposing secondaries.

In any case, Beckham could be motivated to come back stronger after seeing Cleveland's success in 2020.
