Cleveland Brown star wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. has been adamant about his performance in the 2020 season. Though his stats may not allude to greatness so far, Beckham has revealed that he understands that this season will be bigger than just the numbers on the spreadsheet.

From Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com:

“For me, one of my biggest growths has come in acceptance in a sense and for me knowing it’s probably not going to be that kind of season [with huge numbers],” Beckham said on a video call Thursday . “Like I always say, my goal is always going to be my goal, and I don’t feel like I’m ever going to fall short of it. Like I said, learning and acceptance, so you set new goals.”

Beckham turned his luck around in Week 2 with a victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. He finished the game catching 4 of 6 targeted passes resulting in 74 yards along with a touchdown. His 43-yard touchdown came at the hands of quarterback Baker Mayfield, with whom he's had chemistry issues previously.

If Beckham intends on making his stats become a facade of his game in order to help the Browns win, he perhaps will do himself a favor in the process. Beckham doubled his catching rate from Week 1 to Week 2, going from 30 percent to 66.7 percent, respectively.

Beckham found himself in headlines early into the season for reasons aside from his stats. Rumors started to circulate that the Browns may consider fielding trade offers for the three-time Pro Bowler. After an impressive, much-needed bounce-back game in Week 2, hopefully those rumors can subside.
