Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry wants his teammate and buddy Odell Beckham to have a bigger workload. Beckham won't disagree with that, but, as he noted during Thursday media sessions, he's not advocating “just giving me the ball to appease me or anything like that.”

Instead, Beckham suggests getting the ball into his hands to help quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is lacking the success many thought he'd have in 2019. Getting the ball to playmakers would help the young quarterback when facing the Seattle Seahawks and down the line.

“Take something off his plate,” Beckham said, via Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland.com. “I’m more than happy to take something off his plate and put it on me. I can take it. I can handle all this stuff, so just put it on me and see what happens… I care for this game period, so whether I’m emotional during the game or whatever, it’s because I care, so like I say, I’m a big boy. I can handle any criticism, any words that are said about me, anything. I’ll take more on my plate, I’ll take that responsibility 10 times out of 10.”

Beckham's mission is to win. “I hate losing period,” as he said on Thursday, via Cabot. Getting the ball into his hands will probably help the Browns do so.

Nonetheless, Cleveland isn't feeding Beckham as expected. The wideout averaged 6.6 catches and 92.8 yards per game in his 59 games with the Giants. He is averaging 4.6 receptions and 67 yards in his five games with the Browns.
