Former NFL star Peyton Hillis has taken to Twitter to ponder a return. The running back stated that he would come out of retirement for one more season with his old team, the Cleveland Browns.

Now, there is a lot to unpack here. First of all, everyone remembers that breakout season he had. Hillis racked up 1,177 yards on 270 carries (4.4 yards per attempt) and 11 touchdowns in 2010. He even added 61 receptions for 477 yards and another two touchdowns that season.

That led to Hillis becoming a star, and even earning the honors of being the Madden cover that next year.

However, that is where the accomplishments sort of stopped. Hillis ran for 587 yards and three touchdowns the next season. After that, he spent just three more years in the NFL and never posted more than 309 rushing yards or two touchdowns in any of them.

The funny thing is though, the career numbers are still solid. Hillis still managed 4.1 yards per carry (2,832 yards on 696 carries) and 23 rushing touchdowns.

Sure, the numbers aren't amazing but it showed that while 2010 was a superstar year the rest of his career was not nearly as bad as some people think they remember.

The other thing to talk about here is the situation. Cleveland has superstars Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt at the running back position already.

So where would Hillis go? Well he responded to some asking if he would play fullback, and he seems all for it.

Imagine that backfield right there. You have Chubb as a bruising back who has surprisingly great quickness and agility, and Hunt as the receiving and elusive back. Then you have Hillis leading the way as the tank who can block and get those short yardage runs if you need them.

This would be an incredible comeback if it were to actually happen. Hillis has not played in the NFL since 2014. At 34, could he still find a way to be productive?

It's hard to tell how serious he was being with the tweet, but it's safe to assume he has at least some interest. Whether or not the Browns want to make a call to him remains to be seen though.

For now, this is all hypothetical. But really, who wouldn't want to see Hillis back in the NFL trying to reclaim that 2010 magic?
