Over the years, the Cleveland Browns have had the label of being a team that nobody wants to play for. However, there is a former member of the team that wished he would've stayed his entire career there. While reflecting on his career, Peyton Hillis wishes he would've retired with Cleveland.

In an interview with Bull and Fox of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, Hillis shared his disappointment in leaving the Browns in his career, transcription via Chiefs Wire.

“Honestly, I wish I would’ve retired in Cleveland,” Hillis revealed. “I wish that I could’ve played there for 10 more years. Even my wife said we loved our time in Cleveland more than we loved anywhere else, even in Arkansas. We just enjoyed Cleveland and every time we go back, we try to find an excuse to go back to Cleveland all the time even to this day. There’s a lot of things that I wish I would’ve done differently, not just for me but for the fans also. I was young and stupid, what can I say?”

Hillis began his career as a seventh-round pick by the Denver Broncos in the 2008 NFL Draft. After two years with the Broncos, Hillis would be traded to Cleveland in exchange for Brady Quinn.

In his debut season with the Browns, Hillis rushed for a career-high 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns. Following his second year with Cleveland, Hillis was a free agent.

Despite wanting to remain with the Browns, Hillis ended up joining the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012. Unlike his time in Cleveland, Hillis would be second-fiddle to Jamaal Charles in Kansas City.

Then, in 2014, the Arkansas product would finish his career with the New York Giants. Even though he had a successful career, considering the circumstances, Hillis wishes everything would have gone differently with the Browns.
