Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks recently got a new job with the Cleveland Browns and it's back at the defensive coordinator position. Wilks is one of the better defensive minded coaches in the league and recognizes the opportunity he has been given with an upcoming team.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Wilks wishes he could have received a bit more time with the Cardinals, but he understands the business perspective. Now that Wilks has a new job, he has taken it in stride and recognizes the opportunity he has been given. Most notably, Wilks recognized how special the Browns players are specifically Baker Mayfield.

“You can’t win in this league without a quarterback,” Wilks said. “And we have a quarterback. He’s an alpha male and affects whole team.”

The Browns have talent on both sides of the field and lucky enough for Wilks, he has plenty on defense. Defensive end Myles Garrett, cornerback Denzel Ward, and linebacker Christian Kirksey headline the defense and they have proven to lead one of the league's most promising young units. The Browns proved they belong in the league once again and bounced back in a big way in 2018 after a horrific 0-16 season in 2017.

Cleveland now has quite a group of coaches, each with their own repertoire of skills and knowledge that they will bring forth next season, and it's likely that the Browns could start off right where they finished in 2018.
