Following a busy offseason, the Cleveland Browns are set to embark on the 2018 season with a new quarterback under center, with Tyrod Taylor leading the charge.

Ahead of the Browns' Week 1 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, offensive coordinator Todd Haley voiced his confidence that Taylor has his best football ahead of him this season, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Taylor is set to get the first crack at leading the Browns' revamped offense, where he will have a plethora of offensive weapons around him in Pro Bowl talents at wide receiver in Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon along with running backs Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson, and Nick Chubb. The 29-year-old has plenty of talent around him to help lift the Browns to success this upcoming season, as the franchise has great confidence in his ability on the field.

Taylor has proven throughout his career that he can be a reliable starter, as he is coming off a campaign where he helped the Buffalo Bills reach the playoffs for the first time in well over a decade behind his steady play under center. Taylor has proven to be a dual-threat quarterback with his arm and legs, and he's quite proficient at taking care of the ball by limiting his mistakes. He finished last year with 2,799 passing yards on a 62.6 percent completion rate with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions while recording 427 rushing yards for four touchdowns in 15 games played.

Although the looming presence of rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield exists, Taylor has a chance to prove that he can be the long-term answer under center for the franchise, or for another team after 2018. This will hinge on his play on the field and the amount of success the franchise has with him under center.
