The Cleveland Browns have made it clear that quarterback Tyrod Taylor will be the starter going into the 2018 NFL season. However, that does not mean there won't be endless questions about competing against rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield every week.

The first overall pick in this year's draft has been adamant about wanting to start right away. According to Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com, Taylor is ready to assume a leadership role in terms of taking on whatever questions people may have:

“Absolutely,” he said. “It's part of the job. It's part of being a leader, being able to take on questions, even on days that you don't want to take them on. I'm here to help turn this organization around. We have a step for us to take tomorrow (at the start of OTAs) and I'm looking forward to it as well as everyone else.”

Taylor has established himself as a bonafide starting quarterback after a solid three-year stretch with the Buffalo Bills. As a result, the Browns traded for him this offseason with the hopes of finding a competent player under center while they continue to rebuild the franchise.

Needless to say, they got just that in Taylor. His versatile skill set as both a runner and a passer makes him a matchup nightmare. He is also one of the best decision-making quarterbacks after throwing just 16 interceptions over the past three seasons.

Despite his impressive resume, it has been well-established that he will likely serve as the bridge quarterback for Mayfield. Fortunately, the dynamic between these two will be put on display when the team is featured on “Hard Knocks” this offseason.
