The Cleveland Browns are the only NFL team remaining without a head coach, but they are aiming to hire one by Saturday, and they could be setting their sights on Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It was reported earlier in the day that Stefanski would likely interview with the Browns sometime this week.

Stefanski was a runner-up for the Browns' head-coaching job last year, ultimately losing out on the opening to Freddie Kitchens, who coached Cleveland for one season before being fired.

Stefanski landed his first NFL job with the Vikings in 2006, serving as an assistant to the head coach through 2008. He was then named an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2009, a post he held through 2013.

In 2014, Stefanski was elevated to the role of tight ends coach, where he served two seasons before switching over to the running backs coach in 2016.

The 37-year-old was then promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2017, and midway through 2018, he was named Minnesota's offensive coordinator after the firing of John DeFilippo.

Stefanski was so impressive during his short stint in 2018 that he was named the Vikings' full-time offensive coordinator last offseason.

Thanks to a busy offseason in which the Browns landed players such as Odell Beckham Jr. and Kareem Hunt, not to mention some notable pieces on the defensive side of the ball, Cleveland was pegged as a Super Bowl contender by many heading into 2019.

However, the Browns ended up going 6-10 and missing the playoffs. Cleveland's ineptitude resulted not only in the firing of Kitchens, but also the dismissal of general manager John Dorsey.
