Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller will face off for the first time on Sunday.

Miller has liked what he’s seen from the rookie quarterback thus far and believes Mayfield is well on the road toward becoming one of the best QBs in the game.

“I think he is extremely talented. I see why the Browns took him No. 1 overall,” Miller said per Josh Edwards of 247Sports. “Franchise quarterback, made all of the throws, he can run the ball and he can extend the play. Like I said, I can see why the Browns took him No. 1. He is a franchise quarterback. He is an elite quarterback in the making.”

While Miller was pretty complimentary of Mayfield, he actually didn’t have him as his No. 1 QB heading into the draft. The Broncos star actually rated Sam Darnold as his top prospect in this year’s draft class.

But after a bit of a rocky start to his NFL career, Mayfield has hit his stride during the second half of the season and is showing exactly why he was the No. 1 pick. Over his last four games, he’s completed 75 percent of his passes for 1,109 yards and nine touchdowns with three interceptions and has led the Browns to three wins.

The Browns O-line will have their hands full blocking both Miller and rookie Bradley Chubb, who has 12 sacks this season. But if they can provide adequate protection for Mayfield, the rookie should give the Browns a good shot at getting another win.
